Podsljeme is an urban district of Zagreb located in the hills of the Medvednica mountain (bear mountain). The name of the district means under Sljeme (the highest peak of Medvednica mountain). A winter sports area can be found at this peak, where equipment for fake snow can be found, giving it a longer winter sports period. Podsljeme is a prosperous district, with many upper middle class inhabitants and a dense forest cover. This afforestation is part of the nature park at Medvednica. Many of Zagreb’s wealthier and influential residents live in this district. The district borders in the south, among others, Gornji Grad – Medveščak.
