Gornji Grad–Medveščak – “upper city Medveščak”- is named after its historical position on the hill, and is positioned above Donji Grad. In this part of the city you can find a lot of historical landmarks and tourist attractions, including St. Mark’s Cathedral, the Croatian Parliament, and Gradec and Kaptol – the two medieval parts of Zagreb. Further to the north you can find Mirogoj. On this monumental cemetary people from all world religions are buried. In Tkalčićeva Street you can find a lot of bars, shops etc. The district surrounded by four of the other districts: Donji Grad (south), Maksimir (east), Podsljeme (north), and Črnomerec (west).
