Glavni kolodvor Zagreb is the main and largest train station in Zagreb as well as the main hub of the railway network in Croatia. It is about 1 km south of the main Ban Jelačić Square. Just in front of the station there is a tram station with several tram lines throughout Zagreb. There are 7 platforms and 9 tracks at the station, with train connections to the rest of Croatia, as well as neighboring country Slovenia. It was opened in 1892, succeeding Zagreb Zapadni (now named Station West, then called Station South) as the main station. It is one of the largest public buildings of 19th century Croatia.
